  • Forest Garden Technical Manual - Trees for the Future focuses on forest gardens in tropical areas.  Forest gardens supply food, forage for animals, and fuel while also helping prevent erosion, improve water quality, and creating wind-blocks.  They also help sequester carbon.  This is one of the single best strategies I have come across.  It would be a deeply worthwhile effort to determine if we could adapt this approach for different growing zones.  If someone does that work, please let me know.
